Make Up Exam Scheduling

Students will now schedule makeup exams using the Make Up Exam Form (Dynamic Forms) available through the Shasta Portal Dynamic Forms portal.

PACE students should continue scheduling exams through the PACE portal.

Online Exam Scheduling (for exams proctored online)

For exams administered at the Test Center, students will submit their requests through the same dynamic form.

Steps for Instructors

  • Inform Students
    • Direct students to the Test Center’s website for detailed instructions on scheduling and submitting makeup exams.
  • Verify Requests
    • Student requests will be routed to you for review.
  • Complete Part 2 of the Form
  1. Approve or deny the request and provide any necessary details.
  2. Include clear instructions for the Test Center staff and students (e.g., time limits, allowed materials).
  • Completed Exam
    • Completed exams will be returned to instructors via email, sealed envelope, or instructor pickup, based on your selected preference indicated in Part 2.

Important Reminders

  • The Dynamic Form is now the primary method for booking makeup exam appointments.
  • The Test Center will return completed exams based on your pre-selected option.
  • Please ensure that your students are aware of this updated process.

Frequently Asked Questions for Faculty

Make-up exams can be uploaded directly through the Make-Up Exam Request form during the approval process. Exams may also be submitted by email to testcenter@shastacollege.edu.

For students testing with PACE accommodations, exams can be uploaded through the PACE application when responding to a student's testing request.

If a student requires testing outside of regular Testing Center hours, they should work with their instructor to schedule the exam earlier in the day whenever possible. Students may also contact the Testing Center to discuss available options.

No. Approval of late requests is at the instructor's discretion.

For make-up exams, instructors may approve or deny requests that are submitted after the deadline. The Make-Up Exam Request form includes a field where instructors can specify the date and time by which the exam must be completed.

Testing Center guidelines require students to submit exam requests at least three business days before the scheduled exam date. Faculty are also encouraged to complete their PACE Testing Agreement each semester to establish testing parameters and accommodation requirements.

Yes. Students may be able to take their exams at the Tehama Campus when testing space is available. Students must indicate their preferred testing location when submitting their exam request. A Testing Center staff member will reach out to the student to coordinate scheduling details.

Yes. Faculty may choose to proctor their own exams. However, the instructor is responsible for ensuring that all approved student accommodations are provided and properly implemented.

Completed exams can be:

  • Scanned and emailed to the instructor as a PDF
  • Uploaded through the PACE application

Please indicate your preferred method of return in the Make-Up Exam Request form or within the PACE system.

If exams are scanned and emailed, the Testing Center will retain the original completed exams for up to one year.

The Testing Center offers:

  • 5 desks for paper-based exams
  • 14 computer stations for Canvas and other computer-based exams
  • A limited number of private testing rooms for students with approved accommodations or exams requiring a lockdown browser with webcam functionality

The main testing room is also equipped with video monitoring cameras to support test security and integrity.
