Private & Out-of-State Universities

Shasta College is one of 116 public community colleges in California. There are two California public university systems that we partner with. The CSU (California State University) and UC (University of California) systems. All three California public systems work together to establish a more streamlined transfer process for our students. This partnership often allows us to provide our transfer students with more information about the transfer process, before the student applies to that California public university.

Private and out-of-state universities can be great options for our California community college transfer students as well. Established partnerships between Shasta College and these private and out-of-state universities will vary. Which means that the amount of information that we can provide you with about the transfer process, before applying to a private or out-of-state university, will vary by university.  

Transferring to a private or out-of-state university to complete your bachelor’s degree might seem complicated, but if you spend some time asking some important questions and doing your research, before applying for transfer admissions, you will increase the chances that your school of transfer is the best fit for you.
