Qualifying California residents may receive Oregon resident tuition at SOU or OIT through the tuition reciprocity exchange agreement, also known as the California to Oregon Exchange program.

If you are approved for the California to Oregon exchange program, you will be eligible to pay Oregon resident rates for the remainder of your bachelor’s degree.

California Students who wish to attend an Oregon University

  • Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT)
  • Southern Oregon University (SOU)

The tuition reciprocity agreement, also known as a Student Reciprocity Exchange Permit, between OIT and Shasta College allows a limited number of qualified students to attend OIT while paying in-state tuition rates. Resident tuition applies only to undergraduate programs.

Application Process

  1. Submit the completed Permit Exchange Form to Shasta College's Evaluators via email evaluator@shastacollege.edu.
  2. Apply for the Oregon institution of your choice: Southern Oregon University or Oregon Institute of Technology.
  3. Send your official transcripts from Shasta College, and your high school if less than 30 units are completed at Shasta College, to the Oregon institution you applied to.
