Phi Theta Kappa's Beta Mu Mu Chapter encourages its members to explore the Hallmark of Service through the Beta Mu Mu Service Program. Following are just a few of these programs:

Books for Africa

The mission of Books For Africa is to end the book famine in Africa. With your help, we will help create a culture of literacy and provide the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers, and leaders in Africa.

The books you donate are sorted and packed by Phi Theta Kappa - Beta Mu Mu members who send the books to Books for Africa headquarters.  The books are then shipped in sea containers.  Since 1988, Books for Africa has shipped more than 20 million books to 45 African countries.  They are on once-empty library, in classrooms in rural schools, and in the hands of children who have never before held a book. Each book will be read over and over again. When the books arrive, they go to those who need them most: children who are hungry to read, hungry to learn, hungry to explore the world in ways that only books make possible. For more information on the Books for Africa program, please visit

Please look for bins around campus to donate your books! There are bins in 2300 building, 2200 building, 800 building, Library (LRC) as well as other buildings on campus.

Thank you in advance for donating,
