IDRC Technical Assistance Hub for Sustainable Forest Management
Award: $495,899.
This initiative funds Industry Driven Regional Collaboratives (IDRC) that provide short-term flexible and demand-driven regional training programs in high-growth and emerging sectors. Shasta College is proposing to develop a regional Technical Assistance Hub for Sustainable Forest Management to connect specialized training in the HELO and CRAFT Apprenticeship programs with other valuable forestry and land stewardship programs in other community colleges. Shasta College will map existing statewide resources, lead the development of new industry-driven training, and build a collaborative network across the state.
IDRC Expanding Apprenticeships in Far Northern CA
Award: $416,559.
Shasta College is currently the only college in far northern California with an established Office of Apprenticeship and the state's only logging apprenticeship. Grant funds will allow us to offer technical assistance to other rural community colleges as they seek to expand Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) approved apprenticeship programs. This collaborative effort will foster the rapid expansion of critical career pathways and strengthen communication between the DAS and smaller community colleges, ensuring a consistent pipeline of job-ready graduates who bolster local economies and support sustainable career technical education growth throughout the region.
Tehama County Probation (Renewal Contract/Grant)
Award: up to $30,000.
This award is a cooperative agreement between the STEP-UP program and Tehama County Probation, to help assist students who have previously been justice impacted with resources related to books, supplies and materials for courses taken at Shasta College.

Fire and Forestry Pathways Grant (Allocation)
Award: $300,000.
The Fire and Forestry Grants’ funding allocations are intended to accomplish the following:
- Enhance the capacity of California community colleges to provide economic opportunities for students pursuing careers in the growing fields of fire and forestry, which includes fire management, logging, fuels treatments, prescribed fire, right-of-way clearing, and other forest-industry support services.
- Create or expand regional partnerships that include colleges, employers, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), and other partner agencies to support comprehensive regional plans to expand workforce training pathways and increase the number of learners advancing their career.
- Strengthen the ability of California community colleges to develop well-defined fire and forestry career pathways by leveraging existing credential and degree programs, developing or expanding apprenticeship opportunities, and regional collaboration to ensure students have access to training facilities statewide.
Child Development Training Consortium/Yuba Community College District fiscal agent.
Award: $9,200.
This agreement provides funding to students who have successfully completed their ECE and GE classes each semester.
MESA Grant Augment

American Public Workers Association: Instructional Water Pump Station
Award: $31,000.
Shasta College's Wastewater Treatment Program has been awarded funds to repair an existing demo water pump station for use in classroom hands-on instruction for water treatment, small water systems, and wastewater treatment courses.
