The Shasta College Curriculum Committee is here to help faculty review curriculum in a timely manner to meet state requirements and student needs. As a subcommittee of the Academic Senate, the committee oversees all college curriculum development, modification, and approval.  Via the Academic Senate, the Curriculum Committee makes recommendations to the Vice President of Instruction and Board regarding programs, degrees, majors, certificates, courses, and transfer requirements, including General Education requirements, course revisions, disciplines, and other matters which concern curriculum.

Curriculum Committee Meeting Schedule and Submission Deadlines

The Curriculum Committee meets the first and third Mondays of each month during the fall and spring semesters.

The college certifies that the Curriculum Committee has been established by mutual agreement of the administration and the Academic Senate as required in Title 5, Section 55002(a)(1).

Five-Year Curriculum Review

Within each five-year cycle, appropriate faculty must review all existing curriculum and submit it, by the posted deadlines, through the approval process in CurricUNET. All courses must meet this requirement to remain in the catalog as active. The Five-Year Review Chart identifies which courses are due for review during the current cycle.
