Star Alfaro has been a member of the Shasta College Foundation Executive Committee since 2015.

Although she moved to Redding when she was four years old, she considers herself to be a Redding native. Star attended both Shasta and Foothill High Schools while working a part time job at Holiday Market beginning her sophomore year of high school. That part time job lasted from 1994-2012.

Later as an adult, she enrolled in Shasta College where she developed a passion for business and education. She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Human Resources Management from Simpson University in 2007. She has worked in the Banking industry since 1997 holding various positions in Commercial Lending. Star greatly values the relationships she's established with mentors, peers and associates.

Star serves on the Board of Directors for the Shasta County Child Abuse Prevention Council and was named Viva Downtown's 2011 Volunteer of the Year. Star enjoys attending community events, taking zumba classes and spending quality time with family and friends.

Her favorite role is mom to her sons.
