Please join the Shasta College Art Department and view selections from the Permanent Collection of Works, January 16 through February 22. The show is titled “collection |kəˈlekSH(ə)n| -- Building an Educational Resource, selections from the Permanent Collection.” Assembled since the 1950's, the collection is comprised of paintings, drawings, watercolors, prints, glass, ceramics, and sculpture dating from the 16th century to the present.  They are an invaluable teaching resource---allowing students the opportunity to appreciate subtle differences in color, scale, line, and texture--not immediately apparent in reproductions.

Such diverse groupings afford students and non-students the opportunity to view original works, by renowned artists, such as Wayne Thiebaud, Mary Snowden, Albrecht Durur, and Joe Draegert.  The Art Department has lent works from this collection to galleries and educational programs at CSU Chico, The Redding Museum of Art and History, the Shasta County Arts Council, Burney High School, Shasta High School, College of the Siskiyous and the University of the Pacific.
