​Dr. Melinda Kashuba receives 2016 Hayward Award for “Excellence in Education”

REDDING – Dr. Melinda Kashuba, Shasta College Geography Instructor, has received a prestigious 2016 Hayward Award for “Excellence in Education.”  Sponsored annually by the Foundation for California Community Colleges, this award was established in 1989 to honor community college faculty members who are selected by their peers for demonstrating the highest level of commitment to their students, college, and profession. Award recipients, nominated by their college academic senate and selected by representatives of the statewide Academic Senate, must have a record of outstanding performance of professional activities, as well as a record of active participation on campus.  

This high honor comes on the heels of Dr. Kashuba being named a Shasta College 2015 Excellent Educator of the Year.  Her commitment to her students, to Shasta College, and to our community at large are evidenced by these well-deserved awards.  We congratulate Dr. Kashuba, and thank her for the personal and professional commitment she exemplifies in providing excellent education for our students.
