Student Senate

Since virtually all major decisions that are made on the Shasta College campus affect students in some way, student input is welcomed. The organized "student voice" to the campus community is facilitated through the Student Senate.

Also known as the student government at Shasta College, Student Senate is your way to have your voice heard and get involved at Shasta! Students in Senate are the leaders on campus, providing their perspectives and thoughts to the Shasta College administration, as well as serving fellow students through Senate's services that include: hosting a campus food pantry, facilitating the lending textbook library, making ID cards, overseeing campus clubs, hosting the annual Giving Tree event, and more.

Student Senate meetings occur weekly on Fridays at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. You can join us in person in Room 1025, or feel free to join us via Zoom! Senate meetings are open to the public, and is always looking for new Senators and Officers.

Looking for a way to get involved, make a difference, build your resume, and represent the voice of Shasta College students?

Membership Requirements

To become a Student Senator, you have to be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA throughout the academic year. To apply online please submit the online application.

Meeting Dates & Times 

Student Senate meetings are held every Friday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in Room 1025 and via Zoom. If you are interested in attending a meeting or having an item on the agenda, please email thehub@shastacollege.edu.
