Medical Assisting Program Textbooks and Required Materials
Textbooks
The following textbooks are used throughout the entire length of the Medical Assisting Program:
- Cengage Unlimited 2 terms ISBN: 9780357700013; Cost: $190 (price subject to change)
Uniform
Students MUST be in uniform by the first day of week two of the first semester. The required uniform includes:
- Scrubs - specific color will be discussed on the first day of class. Students will be required to wear program specific scrubs beginning the second week of class. (approximately $80) Clean, white, dark brown or black solid color polish-able leather shoes that fully enclose the foot. Open heel clogs are not acceptable. (Cost varies)
- Stethoscope and blood pressure cuff - any standard stethoscope and adult sized cuff. (Cost varies)
- Wrist watch - must have a second hand. No digital watches. Water proof watches are recommended. (Cost varies)
- Name badge - students will be given instruction on the first day of class on how to obtain their name badge. ($10)
Immunizations
If you need immunizations, please contact the Shasta County or Tehama County Public Health Department clinics or your personal medical provider for costs. Refer to program health and safety clinical requirements page.
