The Shasta College PTA Program will be changing from a Spring (January) start, to a Fall (August) start date in 2027.

*Please Note: There is only one application period per year.
Obtain an Application Packet
Application packets will be available for pickup at the Health Sciences Division Office or for download from the Health Sciences Forms & Packets webpage on the date of the September information session day, and throughout the application filing period. It is imperative to submit all required documentation for the application packet to be accepted/qualified. Please make sure to gather all required documents prior to the filing start date.
If you have any questions, or you would like a Health Sciences representative to review your completed application materials prior to the filing period (Please note that during the filing period we are unable to review your clinical requirements and transcript information, but can still answer general questions), please contact the Health Sciences Office at (530) 339-3661.
The following courses are prerequisites for admission into the PTA program:
- Anatomy*
- Physiology*
- Medical Terminology
- Introduction to Physical Therapy Professions (HEOC 1)
*Anatomy and Physiology must have been completed within the last 7 years. An appeals process will be available upon application for those working in healthcare related fields.
