PTA Enrollment Through Multicriteria Selection Process
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program enrolls students in accordance with current California Community College Chancellor’s Office guidelines. All applicants who desire to be enrolled in the PTA program must apply to the program through the same Multicriteria Selection process.
Multicriteria Selection Process Criteria Summary
Applicants apply for the program by submitting applications during the established Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) application filing period (each spring) to the Health Sciences Division Office. Applicants found eligible are ranked following the Multicriteria Selection Process Guidelines. Twenty-four (24) applicants will be chosen from the Multicriteria Selection Process for enrollment.
Up to twelve (12) alternates for the enrollment will be chosen from the application process during this time.

Volunteer or paid aide/tech work in an out-patient physical therapy setting for a min. of 100 hours within the past two years.

Letter from current/former employer verifying employment or current/former organization verifying work hours. The letter must be on organization letterhead with an original signature and include the applicant’s name (must match name on PTA program application), start date and end date (if applicable), employment status (full-time/part-time), number of hours worked per week (or total hours worked from/to date), job title, department if applicable, and examples of duties that include patient interaction.
Volunteer or paid aide/tech work in an in-patient physical therapy setting for a min. of 100 hours within the past two years.

Invitation to Enroll
As Multicriteria Selection Process application filing packets are submitted, each applicant will receive a receipt. The twenty-four (24) top-ranking applicants will receive verification via email that their score has qualified them for invitation into the program for the following fall enrollment period by the Health Sciences Division Office.
