The new Superintendent/President will focus on varied opportunities to pursue growth and improvement; among those are the following: 

  • As a community college district with a large geographical footprint, SHASTA COLLEGE will continue to empower all areas of the college to work as an integrated system that operates cooperatively, efficiently, and effectively in serving a diverse service area and student population. This includes building strong partnerships and relationships, expanding community engagement, and increase outreach to rural communities within the region. 
  • Shasta College will continue to be a leader among the California community colleges in improving student achievement rates, retention, and completion. The College will continue to provide assistance and referrals for students with mental health, housing and transportation needs, while providing pathways to economic independence and career growth.
  • Shasta College's educational and strategic plans will continue to provide the vision for integrated instruction and student support services to support students with diverse educational goals including transfer, high demand career and technical education, and general education. This will also include support for the expanding Bachelor’s degree programs, dual enrollment and high school collaboration, cultural and arts programs, outreach to outlying areas, and support for the Tehama, Trinity, and Intermountain campuses.
  • Shasta College will advance, sustain and support mutually beneficial relationships with the communities throughout the District to improve the social and economic well-being of the region.
