To the Shasta College Community:

I trust you are settling back into a regular semester. It sure was fun to be out and about on campus during the first day of classes and help students find their way to various rooms and buildings.  Thanks to all who helped.

Success Story: I am happy to update everyone on fall enrollment – as of Monday, August 21, we appear to be holding around 12.5% ahead of the same time compared to fall 2022. That is about 300 FTES ahead, which is a great sign that all our efforts to connect with students and build up enrollment are working.  Well done to all involved. Each interaction with current and prospective students where we demonstrate our belief in their ability to achieve future success makes a difference.

Now for some business…
Part of what we work hard to do during the accreditation process is to make sure we have broad opportunity for both input and understanding of the evaluation process and accreditation. Here is a message from our accreditation liaison officer, Will Breitbach, who is arranging forums to facilitate this happening for our campus community. Please note that I think we have a very well done report put together by a great representative group of people.

Accreditation Forums are an opportunity for campus stakeholders to learn about the accreditation process, ask questions, and share feedback on the draft of the Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER). Two forums are currently scheduled:

Calendar invites are attached to this email. If you are unable to attend one of these planned meetings and have feedback you would like to share about the ISER linked above, please email your thoughts to Will Breitbach at wbreitbach@shastacollege.edu.

OK, that is all I have for you today.  Have a great rest of the week.  Thanks once more for serving our students so well.
