REDDING, CA  –  Shasta College will be hosting a Black History Month program on campus Thursday, February 18, 2016. The program will feature events throughout the day, starting at 11:30 in room 812 where a short video about African American astronaut Leland Melvin will take place. This will be followed by a poetry workshop on the balcony room of the library at 4:00pm with Brandon Leake, the keynote speaker for the evening program.

Activities for the evening program will begin at 6:00pm inside the cafeteria on the student stage and will include various community speakers, “Name that Tune” game, and spoken word performance by poet Brandon Leake, followed by dinner and dancing, with music from Power 94.
