Shasta College Jazz Big Band:  This ensemble is a traditional large jazz big band with over 20 musicians comprised of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and rhythm section.  Their concerts include jazz big band swing music of jazz notables such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller but also includes contemporary and brand new jazz big band compositions.  The concerts are designed for the entire family to enjoy.

Great fun for the entire family!  A full-size jazz big band directed by Dr. Larry Grandy performs big band music from the 1930s to present day. The music is for all ages for the entire family to enjoy. This band really swings!
Shasta College Jazz Big Band


Shasta College Symphonic Band:  The Shasta College Band is one of the largest community college wind bands in California.  Approximately 120 brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians combine to form a very large symphonic ensemble.  This band performs a wide variety of music including marches, Hollywood movie soundtracks, musicals, traditional band compositions, and international favorites.  The band's concerts are designed for the entire family to enjoy.

A true community band representing our entire area, this 100+ member ensemble, directed by Dr. Larry Grandy, performs symphonic music including the classics, Broadway, television, movie soundtracks and more.

Shasta College Jazz Ensemble:  This instrumental ensemble is comprised primarily of college age music students and a variety of instruments.  Each semester the band's instrumentation may be different.  The band's music features student improvisations, musical experimentation, and a variety of styles including Jazz, Latin, and Rock.

Hear both the instrumental and vocal sides of jazz, featuring solos from advanced students; directed by Dr. Elizabeth Waterbury and Dr. Larry Grandy.
