| How do I apply? |
Application period is March 19 - April 16, 2012. Complete an application in the Admissions and Records Office. If you indicate that you wish to participate in the graduation ceremony additional information will be mailed to you. |
| Graduation Program |
Students must have an application on file in the Admissions and Records Office by April 16, 2012 for their name to appear in the graduation program. |
| When is practice? |
Practice will be 10:30 am to 12:00 noon on the day of graduation, Friday, May 25, 2012 on the football field. All students who want to participate in graduation are encouraged to attend practice, but it is not mandatory. |
| What if it rains? |
The Office of the Dean of Students will make the call by 9:00 am on day of graduation. If the decision is made to move indoors because of rain, the practice and ceremony will be held in the Gymnasium. |
| How many guests may I invite? How do I get tickets? |
You may invite as many guests as you wish -- there is unlimited seating in the football stadium. We will not issue tickets. HOWEVER, if graduation is moved to the Gymnasium because of rain we encourage students to limit guests to six (6) per graduate. This is a courtesy request. If it rains, graduates should encourage their guests to arrive early as seating will be limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. |
| Do I need a cap and gown? |
Yes - NO EXCEPTIONS |
| How do I get a cap and gown? |
Click here to order your cap, gown, and tassel, or purchase at the Shasta College Bookstore through 7:00 pm on the day of Commencement. The total cost for a Grad Pack (Cap/Gown/Tassel) is $43.00 plus tax. Graduation announcements are also available. Call (530) 242-7574 for more information regarding cost and special orders. | Do I qualify for the Honors List? |
The list of students who qualify for honors will be posted on or about May 14, 2012, at this link Graduation Honors List, outside the Bookstore and outside the Office of the Dean's of Students, Room 2308. Honor cords may be purchased for $11.00 plus tax, in the Bookstore. You may purchase an honor cord only if your name appears on the Honors List, which will be verified at the time of purchase. |
| When will my name be in the Record Searchlight? |
The Record Searchlight no longer publishes a special graduation issue during the first week of June. If you would like to place a "Happy Ad" in the classifieds, please call Record Searchlight at 225-8211 or 243-2424. Cost is $35. |
| After Graduation Reception |
All graduates and their guests are invited to attend a reception in honor of the graduates to be held in the campus quad immediately following the commencement ceremony. |
