First-time college student?

You may qualify for free tuition through the California College Promise Grant or Shasta College Promise Program

Grants

Grants typically do not need to be repaid. Each award criteria and eligibility varies.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available to eligible students and are awards based on academic merits, community service, or other criteria. They do not have to be repaid and eligibility is determined by the individual scholarship.

Work Study

The Federal College Work Study (FCWS) program provides temporary part-time employment at 10-15 hours per week to eligible students.

Federal Direct Loans

Borrowed money that must be repaid with interest. Students and/or parents are required to sign a promissory note when accepting an educational loan. (As defined by https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/loans).

Book Assistance

Shasta College offers grants and loans specifically for book assistance. Funds may be used to purchase textbooks and/or supplies at the Shasta College Bookstore.
