Applying to Shasta College is very easy to do! Shasta College does not require SAT or any other tests other than an English proficiency test if your native language or high school instructional language is not English. You must complete our international student application packet and submit some additional information. You may download our student application (PDF) or request a paper application. 

After we have received your completed application and you have met all the necessary requirements, we will process your acceptance and send your acceptance documentation by mail.

Application Dates & Deadlines

International students can apply and enroll at Shasta College two times during the year (Fall and Spring). Tuition fees must be paid at the time of registration.

All documents for admission must be submitted by the following deadlines:

  • For Fall Semester (classes begin mid August): May 30
  • For Spring Semester (classes begin late January): November 1

Incomplete applications will be redirected for the following semester admission consideration.

Transfer Students from a U.S. language school or other college in the U.S.

If you are already in the U.S. and you would like to transfer to Shasta College directly from a U.S. language school or college, the application deadline will be:

  • For Fall Semester: June 1
  • For Spring Semester: December 1

English Language Requirements

Students must be able to read, write and speak English at a level necessary to actively pursue a full-time academic program. English proficiency is demonstrated by taking one of the following language proficiency tests:

English Proficiency Test Wavers

International students may also demonstrate English proficiency through the following English proficiency waivers. A waiver must be verified by a transcript or other documentation.

International students who meet all the admission requirements except the aforementioned English Language proficiency may be admitted as provisional students and must take and pass the ESL classes and maintain a full-time (minimum 12 units) status as per USCIS regulations before achieving regular admission status. The initial placement level for the ESL classes will be determined based on assessment. Students who did not meet the English proficiency score may also choose to attend one of our partner English language schools. Students who attend a partner language school may be admitted as provisional students. Once the proper level is achieved, the student can receive regular admission status.
