Shasta College’s ceramics program has been designed with the needs of our students in mind. The 6,500 square foot facility features two separate classroom studios; Multiple gas and electric kilns, several pottery wheels and a glazing lab. The program provides students the opportunity for a comprehensive experience, from hand building and wheel forming to mold making, Raku and high firing processes.

Ceramics courses are taught from a fine arts perspective at Shasta College. Our primary objective for students in ceramics is to develop an understanding of the medium's technical processes, instill an awareness of contemporary issues in ceramic art and strengthen their creative voice through the medium of clay.
