This curriculum is designed to prepare the individual with clerical medical office skills for entry-level employment in physicians’ offices, health care facilities, clinics, laboratories, health and accident insurance companies, with related clerical duties essential to medical office assisting.

This degree is approved through the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Upon satisfactory completion of all degree requirements and filing an application for graduation with Admissions and Records, the student’s transcript will reflect completion of this degree.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this degree, the student should be able to:

  • Effectively use appointment scheduling and patient recall software.
  • Identify the legal and ethical issues related to working in a medical practice.
  • Plan, design, and create a worksheet.
