Program Description

This program is designed to teach students how to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner. Students will learn how to start and operate a business in a fast-paced competitive market. The program will build on cross-curricular academic skills by integrating inquiry-based learning and business tools that will enable students to analyze, create, develop, and explore small businesses in a safe environment. Concepts and skills are reinforced by a strong emphasis on hands-on experiences. Applications to the community, individuals, and the utilization of technology are included.

This certificate is approved through the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Upon satisfactory completion of the listed requirements and filing an application for graduation with Admissions and Records, the student’s transcript will reflect completion of this certificate.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this certificate, the student should be able to:

  1. Identify what is meant to be an entrepreneur, the risk and rewards involved and the potential for a life long career choice.
